so it begins...

i think i'm going to do this.  not that anyone will be interested in hearing about the day to day goings on of the arnsbarger mom but i have the time and i have the urge to write down what happens with the little people in this house so that someday we can look back and remember how cute they were.

So, Kent has been working like crazy.  he works when he's home, he works when gone, he works on being gone when he's home.  if kent could figure out a way to work while he sleeps, he would do that.  he is the most dedicated person i have known besides my mom.  she's a whole other story!  the people around me work like crazy and i'm just trying to have a mellow, let's have some fun summer.

speaking of fun...Sunday the four of us went to the city we love.  and just so we are clear, not south bend!  we went to a place called Oakbrook Center with the intention of buying the new iphone.  we were wrong.  the line was really stupid long.  so we had a yummy pretzel dog and enjoyed the beautiful sights and weather.  we got some of those great cinnamon pecans that we had last year at the Germanfest.

we then drove through the city, around by the beach and to the zoo.  Lincoln park zoo was the perfect way to spend the rest of our day.  the kids are not usually in love with riding in the car but sunday they were amazing.  it may sound silly but if you have ever experienced screaming, crying kids in the car for any length of time you know why this is important.

Samira loved the animals.  pierce was so happy to people-watch while samira and her dad went over to the animals and checked them out and got back in the stroller to walk to the next one.  of course kent knows things that i have no idea why or how he knows them.  like which animals would naturally be near other animals.  did that make sense?  how the crap do i know what might be near the giraffes?  a hippo?  some bats?  pandas?  not to be an idiot but is there some sort of secret method to the way they set the place up?  he just seemed to be able to "predict" what might be in the same area and then sure enough we would turn a corner or walk ten paces and there it was.  i find it hard to go on without admitting that there were times on sunday when i found myself looking at an animal that i couldn't have identified if my child's life depended on it.  if someone came over and said, "tell me what that is or i have to take your son"  i might be forced to say, "see that little girl over there"  just kidding i totally said that for my mom's benefit because she insists i like p more.  so not true.

ok so we left the zoo eventually and we called izumi and ordered sushi for carry out and took it to mom's and ate.  it was a great finish to a great day.  it was the best way to spend a sunday with the fam.
